The course register as a data file
All 244 readings are in one CSV under CC BY 4.0: nine per provider, plus one second reading. Facts a provider's pages do not state are rows with an empty value. As of 2026-09-25.
| Column | Holds |
|---|---|
| fact_id | Provider, fact and a counter |
| value | The reading in a line |
| applies_to | The part of the page it comes from |
| source_url | The page |
| source_name | The provider |
| value_since | The day read |
| verified | The day read |
Inclusion rule. Every column in the file. Order. File order.
1About the rows
An id like ucla-cert is UCLA Extension's reading on certificates and credit; curiousrefuge-cost-2 is a second reading on how Curious Refuge's access is paid for, here its introductory course.
No row holds a price. Cost readings say only whether access is open, offered at no charge, or paid.
Course pages are rewritten for each intake. Treat each row as the page on the day read, and check the live page before enrolling.
Counting rows by reading gives the figures used across the site, such as how many providers mention a certificate.
The source_name column names the provider whose page a row comes from; applies_to names the part of that page, such as a pricing table, a course card or an FAQ answer.
Rows for tool makers and rows for schools share the same columns, so the two kinds of provider can be filtered and compared in the same file.
A provider with a second reading on a fact, such as a separate introductory course, has a second row with a counter on its id.
The file is rebuilt whenever the register changes, and the date on each row is the day that reading was taken, so older and newer readings can be told apart.
