Masterclass: a lesson built around one expert
On AI filmmaking course pages, a masterclass is a recorded lesson or series in which one expert works through a project, often at length. As of 2026-09-25.
Higgsfield describes one course as a 33-minute director's masterclass. invideo's academy offers masterclasses beside shorts and step-by-step guides. AI Filmmaker Academy's syllabus is headed as a masterclass syllabus.
The word signals a demonstration more than an exercise: the learner watches a workflow being built.
Masterclasses vary from half an hour to several hours; the word says nothing about length.
Pairing a masterclass with a project of one's own is how most course pages suggest using it.
Higgsfield's masterclass builds a football drama shot by shot, which gives a sense of how many generations one short scene takes.
invideo's academy mixes them with shorts, so a learner can pick the long or the short form.
