Live sessions in online filmmaking courses
A live session is a scheduled online class or call, held at a set time, where learners can ask questions; many courses record them for anyone who misses the time. As of 2026-09-25.
School of Storytelling holds weekly live sessions and makes the recording available straight after. AI Filmmaker Academy holds monthly live question sessions. Blake Ridder's Masterclass adds monthly group calls to its recorded lessons.
Live sessions are where courses differ most from a video library: a learner can show work and get an answer.
Time zones matter. A live session set for one country's evening is the next morning somewhere else, which is why recordings are offered.
A course that relies on live sessions is closer to a class than to a tutorial, even when it is online.
