Intake: the date a course group starts
An intake is a fixed start date for a group of learners who then move through a course together, as opposed to enrolling at any time. As of 2026-09-25.
NYFA's Cinematic AI Center lists intakes for its graduate degree and one-year certificate, the next running from January to August 2027. Don Bosco Film School announces a January intake, and Creative Hut opens batches with a set number of seats.
An intake brings a cohort: classmates at the same stage, a shared timetable and deadlines that hold a project together.
It also brings an application window. Places can fill, and a missed intake can mean waiting months.
Programmes with intakes are the ones on the register most likely to end with a finished film.
Check the next date before planning around a course; the register records the one showing on the day read.
